Chester Junior Rifle and Archery League is a 501c that sponsors a 4-H shooting sports club in Chester NH, Rockingham County.
Junior Rifle and Archery League
The CJRAL program teaches firearm safety and basic rifle, pistol, shotgun, and archery shooting skills. The Chester Rod and Gun Club JRAL group has traveled to national competitions and locally competes in archery, pistol, and rifle shooting events. The CRGC JRAL also has a mobile shooting sports trailer for archery. CJRAL is open to the public.
CRGC JRAL provides all required equipment for those just starting out and seeing if this is a fit for your child. Participants are permitted to use their own equipment contingent upon approval by the program officers. All ammunition IS supplied by the JRAL club. All CRGC JRAL instructors and teen leaders are certified through 4-H, NRA, and other approved course instruction.
Participants are recommended to have their own ear and eye protection, which can be purchased at any outdoor activity store or online. There is limited supply for those that cannot afford their own.
Boys and girls ages 8-18 are welcome to join our program.

We Reserve The Right....
To remove anyone from our firing lines for the safety of all.
Possible reasons for removal:
1. The person is not able to physically draw or hold the firearm.
2. The person is not acting safely for themselves and others.
3. Listening skills are a large part of shooting sports, and if they are not being applied, then we will remove you from the line.
If these simple rules are not being followed or understood, maybe we are not the club for you.

We met your club at the Stratham Summerfest last week. My daughter has been exploring 4-H and had initially said she had NO INTEREST in shooting sports. She’d had some experience with BB guns foam-tipped arrows through Cub Scouts, and she did not care for it (the guns in particular). However, she made a connection with Olivia at the fair who was helping her with archery, and she is reconsidering now that she grasps the difference.
Also, I mentioned it at the time, but I wanted to let you know how very impressed I was with how Olivia worked with my daughter. Sophie (I believe that was her name) was also very well-spoken and shared a lot of information about what the experience has been like for her. The young man who assisted me was very supportive and patient, and I was impressed at how comfortable he was teaching an adult (but I have forgotten his name, I apologize). All the kids we met were all wonderful representatives for your club, and I credit them with piquing her interest!

Our largest support for CJRAL is Chester Rod and Gun Club. The club donates the space, range safety officers, and sponsorship for our program to run, without them we would not be able to run CJRAL effectively.
