Mission:  To develop youth interest, skill development and safety within the dynamic field of shotgun shooting sports.

First year shotgun participants:  Youth will be provided shotgun training and practice in a “crawl-walk-run” methodology starting with classroom, shotgun familiarization in the shooting pits, then clay station training on the clay station 4.  This will be from 11 - 1pm until participants are ready and willing to integrate into the Saturday morning clays group from 830 - 11am.. 

Second year / returning shotgun participants:   Integration into Saturday morning sessions with sporting clays group, typically 50 rounds per session, from 8:30 - 11 am.  This is for students who have completed the first season training. 

Sign-ups:  

• Participants must be at least 13 years old and of physical stature to shoot a shotgun while standing.
• Sign-ups starting on our first meeting (Sept 5) to develop rosters.
• First new-shotgun shooter class to begin Sept. 19th 11-1pm
• First experienced morning clay shoot to start on Sept. 19th 8:30 - 11 am.
• Additional first time shotgun classes will open up to train new squads periodically.

Cost parameter review:

1. First year shooters:  $30 for introductory season which includes shotgun use, ammo and clays fees.
2. Second year shooters and onward:  $50 per 4H season for shotgun use and ammo, club pays clays fee of $10 per session for each student.

Youth at the age of 13 are able to stand and hold a firearm that is heavyer then a .22 rifle while doing motions to hit a target that is also in motion.  

For the first year of the youth shooting in Shotgun there is a one time fee of $30.00 in addition to the membership fee. 

This costs the covers the shotgun use, ammo, and clay fee.  

Cost is $50.00 for the 4H season plus the per $10.00 per session clay fee for each shoot. 

This covers the cost of shotgun use and ammo.  

CJRAL does not want any youth to feel blocked from doing shooting sports so we have a scholarship program set up for that.

Well this is where the Shotgun Instructors will let you know where experience with the Shotgun and maturity to be with the adult clays groups.  There are fees that are applied also.  

This is with Invite Only and on a Individual basis.  

Shotgun is an outdoor sport and done is all kinds of weather.  Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall so dressing for the weather is a must. 

Youth in the past have worn layers and snow gear, gloves, the warmers be it disposable or re-chargable are a great investment and good boots are always good. 

Lightweight pants and tees durning the warmer seasons.  

Hats and their eyes and ears are a must.
